I find it so hard to believe that summer is almost over. This one has been very relaxing and a lot of fun. I dread the months ahead.
First things first: NC
WE had a blast! It was so good to see our families and friends. We watched a lot of movies and ate a lot of food. We had a few little adventures.
I learned how to play disc golf (I am really good at missing the basket). We went to a beautiful park in Ashe County. It was a lot of hiking to get to some the holes (which I really enjoy anyway). The park has everything you could possibly want.
We also went to Hiddenite. Its a gemstone mine. We got to pan in the creek for stones and slouch as well. We found a lot of rubies and sapphires, a couple of amethysts, and a garnet. Our favorite find was a rather large Tigers eye. My only regret was we didn't bring the camera. Maybe next summer.
We went to WV and got to see my wonderful grandfather. We call him Pappap.. Pap lives alone, on a beautiful farm. I love that place. When I close my eyes and think of home its the first place that comes to mind. I am going back this fall. I had hoped to do some genealogy while we were there, but a weekend trip wasn't enough time.
The rest of time was just spent hanging out. We saw The Karate Kid, and Toy Story 3. (Both of which I highly recommend) I got to play Bunco for a girls night, and make some new friends. Oh, and of course we had plenty of Cheerwine and Bojangles.
UTAH:
We did recently discover a place here in Provo that sells Cheerwine! Now that's excitement for us. Derrick is working on LSAT prep, and we are savoring our precious time together. For those of you who do not know, Derrick is leaving for China on August 23rd. He will be gone for three and a half months... Sniff sniff sniff.. We are very excited about this opportunity.
I started a new diet and I have lost 12lbs. I'm really excited about the whole new lifestyle. I learned it from Dr. Abravanel's Body Type Diet and Lifetime Nutrition Plan. After three years of trying its nice to see some results (and I still get dessert).
